The first Meeting Grounds opened its doors in February of 1994.
It was originally founded by Bridget and John Smith-Coppes who partnered with Bridget's parents, Adrienne and Jim Smith, to make Meeting Grounds a reality.
Soon the partners, with the help of some like-minded coffee lovers, were roasting coffee, preparing fresh food and baking desserts and pastries. In no time, word spread about Meeting Grounds and it quickly became a central Minnesota icon.
About the Meeting Grounds
Since 1994, Meeting Grounds has been all about what our name implies-great coffee and connecting with people. Our coffee shops have long been a place to gather with friends. And now our coffee is becoming a staple at home and in the workplace.
Meeting Grounds is owned by
Tricouni Enterprises, a family-owned business in St. Cloud, Minnesota known for making family-held businesses successful and keeping them local. We are proud of Meeting Grounds' heritage, and what it means to the area, and we're excited about carrying on its rich tradition -while expanding its reach.
Starting in 2007, we are bringing the Meeting Grounds experience to other communities across the nation-through both license opportunities and office coffee programs. We believe in Meeting Grounds, as this area always has, and we're pleased to bring its unique character and warmth to the rest of the country.
